Journals
These journals reflect my weekly experiences as an athletic training student. Each journal reflects either an actual patient contact experience, or something I am working on in my athletic training courses.
So far my clinical packet has been going fairly good. I feel as if I am meeting my goals in my package each week. I have been working a lot hard this semester to learn all the special tests with a better understanding instead of just memorizing them. I have been able to focus more on them because I want to be fully prepared when I am in the clinic with someone coming to me with an evaluation. So far I have not be able to fully do an evaluation on someone by myself. So I hoping by completing the sections in my clinical packet I will have myself prepared. This semester my clinical packet seems to be going by a lot more quickly than last semester. I have been able to get more masteries and attempts than last semester. As a lot of the sections use Brianne’s class, I have been able to record them and practice them on a daily basis. My clinical packet has been with me every where I go and when I have free time I am able to record what I have recently done in the past few days into my packet. Last semester I thought I would have more time and be able to come back to it, I was wrong. This year I figured out that writing them as soon as I perform them I have a better time in making sure I write them down and keep track of what I have done. I have been progressing a lot better with my packet this semester.
I was not able to achieve my 2 week goal of getting 7 masteries. However, last week I did get more than7, so that does help take into account of my missing action. I did get 14 attempts this week. I got them from ROM with the elbow and MMT with the elbow. However, that does make the goal for my attempts for the past two weeks. After spring break I will be able to get my masteries from my practical to get me back on track with having my 7 masteries in 2 weeks. I have been doing very well with making my cuts with my goals. This week and the first week of the classes is the only time I have not been able to make my goal. So I have been doing good with meeting my goals.
